Founded in 940AD, Naritasan Shinshoji is the Head temple of the Chizan School of Japanese Buddhism's Shingon sect and has 65 affiliate temples throughout Japan. Enshrining a "Fudomyoo" said made by Kobo Daishi (sometimes known as Kukai, the Shingon sect's founder) as the main deity, the Fudomyoo has attracted widespred popularity since the Edo era and is known as "Narita no Ofudosama."
The Narita based AEON Narita Shopping Center has a Jusco supermarket and 120 varied boutiques and other stores selling everything from clothes and sports goods to groceries and general goods. And when the shopping is done it also has a range of restaurants.
