<Tickets eligible for Upgrade Awards>
Tickets with booking classes J/C/D/Y/B/H/K/L/W printed in the CLASS column of tickets. (Executive class normal fares, JAL Business Saver fares, JAL Business Saver 14 fares, JAL Business Saver 28 Weekend Stay(from July 01, until March 31, 2010, onboard basis), Economy class normal fares, JAL Economy Saver Flex fares, JAL Economy Saver Premium fares, IATA PEX, JAL Economy Saver fares, JAL Goku 7 Select fares, etc.)

<Tickets not eligible for Upgrade Awards>
Tickets for individual or group inclusive tour fares, JAL Goku fares (excluding JAL Goku 7 Select fares), special discounted fares, JMB award tickets or tickets subject to special provisions.
*Certain types of fares are not eligible for upgrade irrespective of booking.

Required points for Upgrade are different depending on the route and the boarding class.

Deadline For Application

・ You must make reservations before requesting upgrade by calling the reservation desk of your tier status from 10:00 of 330 days prior to the date of flight departure (not including the day of departure). The deadline of application is 12:00(American region: Pacific Time; Europe·Middle East·Africa region: U.K. time; Asia ·Oceania region: the local time of JAL office of your membership registration.) of 1 day before flight departure date or the previous weekday.(Same deadline is applicable in case of waitlists.)
・On the JAL website, the deadline of application is 23:59 of 2days prior to the flight departure date. In case of waitlists, the deadline is 23:59 of 4days prior to the departure date of the first flight sector. (American region: Pacific Time; Europe·Middle East·Africa region: U.K. time; Asia ·Oceania region: Hong Kong time).

Reservations

・To request for Upgrade with Upgrade Points, please have your airline ticket/e-ticket receipt ready and visit JAL website, or call the JMB Center/JMB Award Reservation Desk of your region.
・At the time of making reservations, you must have the total amount of Upgrade Points that are needed for the upgrade, otherwise you cannot make a reservation.
・Upgrade Points will be redeemed at the JMB Center/JMB Award Reservation Desk of your region immediately at the time the flight has been confirmed and necessary arrangements on upgrade issuance will be started.
・Upgrades are stored electronically and will be arranged at the departure airport on the flight date. When checking in, please mention that you have already requested for an upgrade and present your purchased ticket.
・If you have been on the waiting list, please verify whether your upgrade reservation is confirmed at the time of check-in at the airport. Upgrade Points will be redeemed at the time the flight has been confirmed and necessary arrangements on upgrade will be started.

Taxes

※The following Airport Passenger Taxes will be necessary on the day of departure for Upgraded tickets from Economy class to Executive class since this tax amount differs according to each reservation class.

※British Air Passenger Duty : 40GBP*1/50GBP*2 for departure from London. (Payment is not applicable to Upgrade from Premium Economy class to Executive class.)
*1 For tickets issued on/before Nov 28, 2008, and/or flights departing from London on/before Oct 31, 2009.
*2 For tickets issued on/after Nov 29, 2008, and flights departing from London on/after Nov 1, 2009.
※International Air Passenger Solidarity Tax : 36 EUR for departure from Paris.

Eligible Members

Class J-e Coupons can be used by the JMB member him/herself, member's spouse and applicable relatives specified in the JMB rules. When persons other than the member him/herself are requesting for upgrades using the Coupons at the airport on the day of departure, they must be accompanied by the member upon check in at the airport and the member must present his/her JMB membership card.

◆Itineraries
Upgrade are available for either round-trip or one-way travel.
All flights must be confirmed in the upgraded class of service at the time Upgrade Points redemption. When using upgrade, all of the restrictions and conditions of travel for the ticket purchased will apply.
◆Required points
Upgrade Points will be required for every sector.
◆Combining upgrade
2 upgrade awards may not be combined for an upgrade from Economy (Y) class to First (F) class.

Upgrade are valid only for the flight and date originally reserved. Failure to travel on the reserved flight and date will result in forfaiture of the award. Only for the case of changes to reservation for the new flights is confirmed before boarding, upgrade will be available within its validity.
